The new Smash Bros will drop sometime in 2014. That’s a while from now. But why wait at all when you can play an awesome modded version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl that makes the game feel like new? The trailer above is for the latest update for Project M, a mod for Brawl that makes the game more like Melee--which is to say, the mod makes it a faster, more technical game. This means that some moves have been changed or improved, yes. In addition to that, the cast has been tweaked to be more balanced—and that cast H25 is expanded from what Brawl normally offers. Through this mod, you now can play as characters like Roy and Mewtwo. Or, you can put on a number of alternate costumes on characters. You can also enjoy playing on new stages. You can do all that, without having to actually modify your hardware (or buy a new game). You just need a Wii, a copy of Brawl, and an SD card to download the mod to. You can find instructions on how to boot this up on your Wii here—though the newest version of Project M, which is showcased in the trailer, won’t be available until December 9th.
